About Us
Northglenn is home to Karl’s Farm Dairy, one of the oldest independently owned dairies in Colorado. The dairy has been owned and operated by Bud and Fern Hinkhouse since 1947 and has long been a neighborhood landmark. Since Bud’s death in December of 1998, the dairy has been owned and managed by Fern Hinkhouse, Lloyd Swaithes and Ed Durland. In 1999, they brought on Daneen (Durland) Rucki, a member of the third generation, to act as Vice President of the company. She along with several other grandchildren can be seen working on the farm and in the stores.
The unique and ecclective store is truly a convenient country market. This place can be a quick convenient stop for propane, dairy products, meat and seasonings or one that you can enjoy for hours. spend time looking at a few of the antique cars and horse-drawn buggies that the Hinkhouse family collected over the years and browse through the unique gifts, collectibles and home decor items they have for sale. The Country store offers a full line of high quality Traeger wood pellet smokers and uses them regulary to cook and sample everything from Swedish potato sausage to free-range turkeys.

If you want to know how good milk can be – so good your kids will finish every drop and ask for more – you'll just have to taste it.
Northglenn is home to Karl's Farm Dairy, a family owned farm complete with cows, horses, goats, sheep, miniature donkeys and a few llamas (plus an ever changing number of rabbits, a red fox, two coyotes, several hawks and an occasional bald eagle).
The country market, which sits along the Southwest corner of the farm on 120th Avenue, is still the place to get farm fresh milk in glass bottles. A quick stop and you can have that flavor-packed, country wholesome heaven-in-a-glass stuff that the folks at Westword said was the tastiest milk to grace an upper lip. And alongside the dairy case, they’ve added farm-raised all-natural beef, elk, buffalo and free-range chickens. So now you’ve got just one place to go for the smokers and grills, pellets and propane, meat, bread, hand blended rubs and all the other accoutrements for your next barbeque.
But good BBQ isn’t the only thing on their mind; they've added a full line of organic goods and gluten free products. All this is complemented by a large selection of local products from small Colorado shops. The goal of the family is to continue to provide good value and a quick, convenient place to shop while offering a broader selection of products. So bring the family, the older folks will enjoy seeing the selection of unique gifts as well as the old horse-drawn Buggies and classic cars that Bud and Fern collected; the kids can feed the animals out by the yellow barn, and you can rediscover the joy of shopping at a place that respects your budget and your need for convenience and quality.
